Since I gave you my Top 5 Actors, I figured this week would be the perfect time to introduce my Top 5 Actresses

Number 5

Emma Thompson
Emma Thompson an English actress who has been working since 1985. She has been part of many hit films including Men in Black, Love Actually and Saving Mr. Banks. Her acting has incredible range as she has played a multitude of characters. However she is also a very accomplished screen writer in many of the films she’s starred in including Bridget Jones’s Baby, Last Christmas and Sense and Sensibility. She has also starred in multiple film franchise including The Harry Potter series as Professor Trelawny and as the title character in the Nanny McPhee films. She has also dabbled in voice acting in Disney’s Treasure Planet and Beauty and the Beast. I actually have two roles of hers that are my favourite the first being Mrs Potts in Beauty and the Beast as it was a very big role to fill but she did it very well and of course sang the title track beautifully. My other favourite role of hers is as Petra in Last Christmas as not only does her character have some comedic moments, she also tugs on heartstrings as a worried mother and citizen that Im sure many people can relate too.
Number 4

Kendrick began working at just 18. She has been in a range of films including the Twilight saga, A Simple Favour and What to expect when you’re expecting. One thing she is known for is her singing voice which has become key in many of her rolls such as Cinderella in Disneys Into the Woods, Poppy in the Trolls films and of course as Becca in the Pitch Perfect Trilogy. Throughout Kendricks career she has had dramatic roles, comedic roles and has been able to fit any of the roles she takes on. She also seems very down to earth in interviews and says it as it is. My favourite role of hers is as Becca in Pitch Perfect. Kendricks character is very relatable, seeing her go through the journey of joining college and the Bella’s as well as her and Jesse’s relationship forming, make it a brilliant rom com that people love.
Number 3

Sophie Turner
Turner began working in 2011, as one of her best know roles as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones. She began at the age of only 14 and continued until she was 23. Her other biggest role is as Jean Grey in the X-men prequels, being the title character in the latest release. She also got married to Joe Jonas in a Vegas ceremony in Spring 2019, and gave birth to their daughter in July 2020. She has also starred in multiple of the Jonas Brothers (her husbands band) recent music videos. Although originally born in England she now lives in the US with her family. When in interviews she is hilarious and full of character. Although she is part of two very large franchises she doesn’t have a large filmography, however I suspect it will continue to grow as the years go on. My favourite role of hers is as Jean Grey in the X-men she had to take on the task of an already established role as well as having a very prominent part in the two films she was part of.
Number 2

Zendaya
Acting since she was 14, she began her career with Disney Channel on the show Shake it Up. She since then has had a brilliant career that has included acting, singing, dancing and modelling. She has done some voice work as Meechee in Small foot and Fern in the Tinkerbell series. She has also had many films on the Disney Channel as well as starring in Shake it Up and K.C Undercover. She was also a contestant on Dancing with the Stars in 2013 coming runner up. She is the face of Lancomes Idole and has had a brief singing career. Some of her bigger roles include Rue in the hit Euphoria which she won an Emmy for. She stars along side Tom Holland as MJ in Marvels Spiderman Trilogy and played acrobat Anne in The 2017 hit The Greatest Showman along side Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron. My favourite role of hers is as MJ as I feel she gives the character a fresh new spin and isn’t just seen as Peter Parkers love interest and is a strong female role model.
Number 1

Emilia Clarke
In at number 1 is Emilia Clarke. The British actress began working at 23, earning her role as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones two years later. In 2018 she starred in the Han Solo prequel as Qi’ra. After that she starred in the 2019 Christmas hit Last Christmas. One of her best known role is as Lou in the film adaption of Me Before You. She is a brand ambassador for Dolce and Gabanna, she even sings a classic Italian pop song in an ad for the brands perfume The One. She starred in the Broadway adaption of Breakfast at Tiffanys. She has been my favourite actress since I can remember and when she is in interviews she is very genuine and down to earth and just a great role model to have. My favourite role of hers in as Kate in Last Christmas we get to see the character go through a journey and although she is by no means perfect at any point throughout she makes the audience feel for her and follow her on the journey.
