So I’m unsure if this is a controversial opinion or not but this is actually one of my favourite of the X-Men films.

If I were to give you a long story short, this film gives the audience an answer to what Logan went through, throughout his whole life and how he became the Wolverine that we know today. It gives a look into his life (or lives) growing up with his brother and when he tries to live as normal a life as he can.

There are a lot of this I like about this film, the first being that we get to see Logan actually interact with his brother, someone he has had with him his whole life (as the Wolverine we are first introduced to in X1 is a known loner). You get to see the differences and similarities between them. However I would say Victor (the aforementioned brother) is definitely more animalistic and almost feral in comparison to Logan who at many times has to bring Victor back to reality.

This film also introduces us to some characters who don’t grace the screen for a long time after, Wade Wilson being one of them (cough Deadpool 2 cough) and Gambit (who again is pretty different from a certain someone). It of course wouldn’t be complete without William Striker making an appearance and impacting Logans life, mostly for the worst.

I don’t want to give much more away as it is a really good film – minus some pretty questionable CGI claws. I would recommend everyone add it to their list of ‘Marvel’ movies to watch as not only does it have some great action sequences it also has a pretty good story line.
