I’m just going to say it; this is definitely not the best X-Men film. Although there are some good parts over all its… questionable shall we say, (and let’s not even think about the timeline).

This film pretty much reverses the end of X2 with Jeans grand sacrifice and brings her back as The Phoenix who’s powers are greater than any other mutant and is very untrusting of any other person mutant or not.

This film has a lot of great characters from the comics including the introduction of Beast and Juggernaut. We get to see Magneto really have an impacts on other mutants and just how big a following he gains.

The most interesting part of the film is the concept of ‘the cure’. In which the Government have found a ‘cure’ for mutants. This obviously has mixed reviews as many mutants rightfully state they have nothing to cure. However there are also mutants like Rogue who could really benefit with having a normal life and it is interesting to see both sides.

Overall this is definitely not the best X-Men film but it does have its good moments.
