Just as promised, I’m continuing my reviews of the X-Men films so onto X2, which is surprisingly the second of the X-Men films (please note the sarcasm).

As we all know sequels can either be really good or really bad, luckily X2 isn’t the worst sequel I’ve ever seen. It not only introduces a few new mutants but it also gives us a bit more of a look in Logan’s past – discovering it at the same time as him.

In this film we also get to see Logan be the ‘responsible adult’. After the school is taken over by Striker (an anti mutant leader from Logans past). Logan, Jean, Storm and the students must try and help the Professor and Scott escape Strikers clutches.

A couple of things I really like about this film is that we get to see a bit more in to life at the school for the students and we also get a magneto/mystique x X-Men team up! Which is so fun to see the ‘good guys’ and ‘bad guys’ teaming up, even if they have the same goal they have very different methods of achieving them.

We also get to see that not everyone the Professor has tried to help, has worked. This includes Strikers son who he wanted the Professor to ‘fix’. Even though the Professor tried to help Jason control his power, Striker just wanted to control Jason and took over himself.

I’ll finish by saying Mystique and Magneto are once again the best part of the film and they are an incredible duo.
