I may or may not have finished this book, then picked up my laptop to let everyone know they need to read it!
Firstly I will say, it feels a little rushed at the start as the wedding is at the very beginning and not focused on that much, but as the book goes on it is clear that this is more of a set up for Frankie and Aiden’s characters and was very much a good choice by the author.
Frankie is one of my favourite main character I have ever read. She is far from perfect. She is stubborn, loud, opinionated and all round real. She reminds me of myself except she would shout at someone and make a scene and I’m not that bad (just). She also goes through a lot of self reflection and that although she is fiercely loyal sometimes this can lead to her holding a grudge and blocking herself off from things that might actually be good for her.
Aiden’s character is also a perfect match for Frankie, he is first seen as a rude and insensitive player but once the audience are shown more of him (and he meets Frankie), it turns out he is a kind, thoughtful and generous person who will do anything to protect the people he loves.
I really enjoyed the fact that this book was also split narrative and at times you were experiencing the same event from different points of view.
The book is a good read, with plenty of likeable (and not so likeable) characters and I know that if I didn’t have to go to work, I probably would have been able to finish it in a day! It is definitely one that should be added to everyones TBR lists!
