After six seasons and two films (and one reboot), it’s fair to say this iconic show has cemented its way into television history. This show is perfect for anyone who likes an easy half an hour watch per episode with plenty episodes per season!
The show follows four women trying to navigate their thirties (and forties) in the big city. Dealing with careers, relationships and just life in general. The group consists of Carrie (the main protagonist of the show)- a writer who uses her and her friends love lives as content for her column, she could also be described as a socialite with a slight shoe addiction.
Next up is Samantha – a self sufficient badass, who is unapologetically herself and will try anything once.
After comes Miranda – she’s a top New York lawyer, who is very cynical at the world and will happily tell a man what she thinks of him.
Lastly is Charlotte – a hopeless romantic who wears her heart on her sleeve and is convinced Prince Charming is right around the corner (spoiler; he’s not!)
With all these characters in the mix, it does make for some brilliant episodes. I took a ‘Women in the media’ class in univeristy and to say this show was revolutionary for its time would be an understatement. It was the first time four single women had been thrust onto screens and they actually spoke about sex! Women felt they could relate to them and their iconic table chats reminded of women of conversations they’d have with their friends and people still relate now, especially with Samantha. (#teamsamantha).
So if you want an easy watch, that will make you laugh and occasionally make you cry this is the show for you. All seasons are available to stream on Now TV!
