Now yes I know what your thinking, another film about a holiday starring half of Hollywood. It’ll just be the same thing we’ve seen before, honestly I thought the same but Mother’s Day has actually become my favourite film out of the very specific genre.

So just a quick over view of the plot, we follow a range of families and friends, the week before Mothers Day leading up to the big day.

One thing I like about this film is how seamlessly the characters are introduced. The dialogue is worded so well that it all works and flows well. Answering any questions you have before you’ve even thought of them

Now this film deals with many different relationships people could have (or not have) with their mother. Some include; First time mothers, Adopted children, estranged mothers, first years without their mother, step mothers. I think they included all of these incredibly well and you don’t really notice how many different relationships that have been included until you sit down and list them.

The cast has to be mentioned! Yes the cast of these types of films are always incredibly starstudded but I have to say I think this one is my favourite. Some of the A-list cast includes: Jennifer Aniston, Timothy Olyphant, Julia Roberts, Hector Elizondo, Kate Hudson, Margo Martindale, Aasif Mandvi, Robert Pine, Sarah Chalke, Jason Sudeikis, Britt Robertson, Jack Whitehall and that’s just to name a few!

My favourite storyline has to be Zack and Kristin’s. Its so simple and cute as they are just so happy together and their ending is just brilliant. I also like how they showed Sandy and Henry as a divorced couple who don’t completely hate each other (bar a dip in the middle), which is very rarely portrayed in the media and is very refreshing.

If you haven’t seen this film it is available on Netflix now and I would highly recommend as its easy to watch and will definitely bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye.
