Now one key role in any film is the leading man to star opposite the leading lady , and Hollywood has a fair share to choose from so I thought id let you know some that stand out to me.
Number 5

Taron Egerton
Since he was catapulted on screen in 2014 in Kingsman: The Secret Service starring along side some of the world top talent such as Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Samuel. L. Jackson. Egerton fit in perfectly with the cast and really shone as Eggsy. From then on he has only gone on to more leading roles, such as Eddie the Eagle in Eddie the Eagle, Our favourite hooded bandit in 2018 retelling of Robin Hood, and most recently as Elton John in Rocketman in which he won a Golden Globe for best actor. He only continues to grow in his roles and is destined to be great. My favourite performance of his is definitely as Elton John, he really showed all sides to John and conveyed his story brilliantly as well as singing all of the songs feature in the film.
Number 4

Chris Hemsworth
Next up is everyones favourite Australian, Chris Hemsworth. Hemsworth is best know for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2011. Since then he has starred in two more Thor films (with a fourth in the works) as well as four times in the avengers films. He has such a great range showing his dramatic side in the heart of the sea, comedic side in Ghostbusters and Thor: Ragnarok and of course plenty of action in Extraction and 12 Strong. He also picks up many accents for his variety of roles particularly in Snow White and The Huntsman (and its sequel). We also get to see Hemsworth’s comedic side when he is in his press interviews or even just in videos he posts on his social media. My favourite film of his (other than the Thor’s) is actually the sequel of Snow White and the Huntsman, The Huntsman: Winter War it isn’t his most know or highest rated but I think it had a great cast and storyline and is thoroughly underrated.
Number 3

James McAvoy
Now I have to include a fellow Scot, James McAvoy. Just like Hemsworth, McAvoy has an incredible range and has been acting since 1995. Some of his most notable rolls are Mr Tumnus in Narnia, Robbie in Atonement, Charles Xavier in Xmen, as well as some animated roles like Gnomeo in Gnomeo and Juliet and Arthur in Arthur Christmas. McAvoy really is a chameleon of an actor, he fits any roll so well and its surprising how many films he stars in that you don’t even realise. One role that should be noted and that I actually didn’t watch until this year was split in which he plays 9 roles both male and female and 23 more in the sequel to have that skill and range is just incredible. However my favourite films of his are the first two men filmed he starred in as I feel he took on the role that Patrick Stewart had shaped and really made it his own whilst still keeping a character we all know and love.
Number 2

Tom Holland
At 24 Tom Holland has achieved a-lot more than many actors could dream of. Not only has he had a west end career, is Spiderman, starred in a Pixar film and the highest grossing film in the world. He has also worked with some of the best Hollywood has to offer, such as RDJ, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Ewan McGregor, Emma Thompson, Octavia Spencer, Cillian Murphy just to list a few. For such a young age he has such a large Filmography including 5 Marvel films and counting, 2 animated films and countless others. He also runs a charity with his family called the brothers trust in which the frequently host fundraisers. He always has times for his fans and seems like an incredibly humble person. My favourite film of his is Spiderman: Far from home as I feel it was one of his more challenging roles as he was already established into the MCU and this was the first film out after Endgame which added immense pressure. The range he achieved in the film was incredible and 100% one of his best performances to date.
Number 1

Ben Hardy
My choice for Number 1 is up and coming actor Ben Hardy who since he got in start in Eastenders as Peter Beale in 2013 has starred in some of hollywoods biggest films. Such as X-men: Apocalypse in which he played Arch-Angel, 6 Underground as Four along side Ryan Reynolds and probably his most notable as Queen’s Roger Taylor in the bands biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. He has come incredibly far in just such a short time considering he left Eastenders in 2015. His recent film Pixie that came out later this year . He has also starred in many period pieces such as the BBC series The Woman in White and the biopic thriller Mary Shelley. Although quiet on social media he often gives up his platform to give people a bigger audience to get messages across and is lovely to all of his fans. I have a feeling Hardy will only go onto greater things and is a star in the making. My favourite role of his is his latest release as Frank in Pixie, he manages to convey a relatable and hilarious character as well as doing it all in an Irish accent.
